Stanley held a five-stroke lead over John Rollins and John Huh after 54 holes at last week’s Farmers Insurance Open but shot a 74 and wound up losing in a playoff to Brandt Snedeker on the second extra hole. Paul Lawrie is looking to bridge a 13-year gap as he goes into the final round of the Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy with a one stroke lead. Steve Stricker, who still has yet to tee it up on the U.S. mainland this season, likely will skip the Northern Trust Open in two weeks.
